About
I’m a proud Mexican-American journalist, shaped by the values of sacrifice, resilience, and hard work. My parents—immigrants who came to the U.S. in search of a better future—instilled in me a mindset that nothing is given and everything must be earned. My father worked two jobs, while my mother balanced work and caring for our family. That example of perseverance continues to drive my career in sports broadcasting and journalism.
My journey began in high school as a camera operator for varsity basketball games. At DePauw University, I committed to building versatility across media. I served as a Sports Anchor and Correspondent for Tiger Sports Nation (TSN) during my first two years, then interned in news with WKRG News 5 as a junior. As a senior, I focused on professional writing, contributing to The DePauw, Banner Graphic, and Tunnel Vision Sports, where I covered press conferences and interviewed high-profile figures like Kevin Durant, Doc Rivers, and NFL Analyst Matt Miller. I also wrote about the Chicago Bulls' 2023–24 season for ThePeachBasket.
Beyond campus, I’ve had the privilege of working with the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) to cover their national conference in Las Vegas, and with Abasto | Food & Beverage Business News to report from the Sweets and Snacks Expo in Indianapolis.
Since graduation, I’ve continued to expand my skills across writing, broadcasting, and production. I’ve worked with Chicago Public Schools (CPS), Prep Network, Premier National Sports, and served as a camera operator and statistician for UIC Athletics and Synergy Sports. In the audio space, I co-hosted the podcast “The Next Chapter of Sports” on Spotify and YouTube, and appeared as a featured guest on “The Truth About Sports” on WRMN 1410 AM.
Whether I’m behind the camera, on the mic, or in the press box, I’m driven by a deep love for storytelling and a commitment to representing my community in the world of sports media.
